Union Members Protesting Arizona Immigration Law

Thirty two unions are traveling by bus to rally at the state Capitol on the day that Arizona's new immigration law is set to take effect. My question is why?

Unions are meant to help their members. How is this going to help their members? Isn't Unions sole purpose to help people get good honest pay and benefits? At least that's what Union members tell me.

This bill has nothing to do with jobs though. Hmm, so what could it be? Could it be that the Democrats them selves have sent their thug group on the attack?

That is exactly what this is. The Unions could careless about their members. They care about power. How do you get power? Make the Democrats happy and if you can give Amnesty to the illegals, maybe round them up too.

The said thing is, is that this bill is no different then what the Federal law says. It just always cops to do the job that the Feds have not been doing, but people are too stupid to look at it and only follow what their party tells them too.

Charlie Crist Will Do Anything To Get Elected

Florida Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Charlie Crist tells the Wall Street Journal it's a lot more fun being an Independent.

Crist -- who has moderated many of his conservative views since leaving the Republican Party -- says, "I want to do what is in my heart, but other influences have some effect -- to a degree."

Despite pledging as a Republican to help repeal President Obama's health care law, Crist now says he doesn't support such a move; adding that the law can be improved.
Also, a top adviser to President Obama is now advising Crist and is planning a fundraiser that will consist largely of Obama supporters.

Republican opponent Marco Rubio minced no words telling the Journal, "I think he'll do and say anything to win this election."

So Obama has sent a top adviser to help Crist and not the Democrat that is running against him? Hmm, it sounds like they are hoping that this will split the Republican votes and push in another Democrat. This is just another trick that the Democrats are pulling this election. They cant win on their politics.

Hopefully the people of Florida will realize this and vote smart.

Lindsey Graham May Vote For Elena Kagan

Lindsey Graham voted for Sonia Sotomayor and put a far left Liberal on the Supreme Court. Now he is thinking of voting for Elena Kagan, who is farther left then Sotomayor.

“When it comes to judicial nominations, elections have consequences,” Graham said. “My point of view is you’re replacing Justice Stevens with someone that’s of like mind who may actually be more friendly to national security issues.”

Justice Stevens tried making law from the bench. That is not their job to make law. Their job is to enforce the law. The Liberals on the bench like to twist facts and push judgments in their direction. Is that what Graham wants?

“The one thing I don’t want to do as a nation is overly politicize judicial appointments – and that’s been going on since [Robert] Bork,” Graham said. “If we don’t watch it, we’re going to drive good people away from wanting to be judges. … I don’t expect the president to pick someone that I would have chosen or the NRA would have chosen. At the end of the day, the question is: Are they qualified? Do they live within the mainstream of the liberal judicial philosophy?”

Liberal judicial philosophy? Last I checked this is a right leaning country. Not a Liberal country, even though that's what the Democrats are trying to turn it too.

The NRA is going to eat Lindsey Graham alive for not supporting them, as well they should. The NRA is about the Second Amendment. A Supreme Court Justice should support the Second Amendment.

South Carolina needs to wake up and vote this loon out.

Michigan Tea Party, Not Really The Tea Party?

Looks like Mark Brewer, Chairman of the Michigan Democrat party sees the writing on the wall. People are sick of the Jennifer Granholm era. The know that electing another Democrat will just continue the decline of this state.

So what can a Chairman do?

Start a Tea Party, Party!!! Maybe those ignorant Tea Party activists will fall for voting for someone on it and split the Republican vote!!

People, do not fall for this. The Tea Party that you will see on Michigan's ballots are not part of the Tea Party movements that you have been seeing across America. This is just a Democrat trick to split the votes and help the Democrats win.

Hopefully the actual Tea Party people will have TV ads saying that it is not them and this little trick by Mark Brewer will not work.

Is The NAACP Really The Racist Group?

The NAACP passed a resolution condemning the Tea Party movement for what they call racism in the movement. We all know that if you disagree with the President you must be a racist.

Well a video has surfaced by biggoverment.com that shows Shirley Sherrod, USDA Rural Development Georgia State Director, delivering a racist speech to the NAACP. Did they condemn her? Nope.

"The first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm, he took a long time talking but he was trying to show me he was superior to me. I know what he was doing, but he had come to me for help. What he didn't know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was, I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him," Sherrod said.

"I was struggling with the fact that so many black people had lost their farmland, and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land. So I didn't give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough," Sherrod said. "So that when he, I assumed the Department of Agriculture had sent him to me, either that or the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and he needed to go back and report that I did try to help him."

Hmm, sounds a little racist to me, but these are the kind of speeches I would expect from the NAACP. They have long went away from equality and are now more of a political activist group / racist group.

Mojave Desert Memorial Cross Stolen

The 7-foot-tall metal cross that has stood in California's Mojave Desert for 75 years and withstood a hard-fought battle in the Supreme Court was ripped down and stolen Sunday night, according to state officials.

"This is an outrage, akin to desecrating people's graves," said Kelly Shackelford, president of the Liberty Institute, which represents the caretakers of the Mojave Desert War Memorial. "It's a disgraceful attack on the selfless sacrifice of our veterans. We will not rest until this memorial is re-installed."

The National Park Service says someone cut the metal bolts holding the metal-pipe cross to the top of Sunrise Rock and made off with it Sunday night or before dawn on Monday.

Veterans groups are outraged at the theft of the memorial symbol that was erected in 1934 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars to honor World War I dead.

"To think anyone can rationalize the desecration of a war memorial is sickening, and for them to believe they won't be apprehended is very naïve," said VFW National Commander Thomas J. Tradewell Sr. in a written statement.

The 75-year-old monument was the target of a legal challenge from the ACLU, which charged the cross is a religious symbol that shouldn't be allowed on public land. The U.S. Supreme Court last month refused to order that it be torn down, as the land had already been sold to private owners.

This is a huge slap in the face to World War I Vets, but Liberals do not care about Vets. All they care about is their agenda and they will wipe out whatever is in their path, no matter what.

If I had to guess I would say that some young punk Liberals did not like the decision of the Supreme Court and decided to take action. This is what happens in a Liberals mind. They think they are above this. When the law does not work on their side, they destroy it.

The funny thing is this is now private property. They can be brought up on all sorts of charges now.

Students In Morgan Hill, California Sent Home Over American Flag T-Shirts

This Wednesday was Cinco de Mayo. It is a holiday for Mexicans to celebrate, but on this day some students at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, California were sent home because they were wearing shirts that had an American Flag on it. So where is the problem with wearing a shirt with this on it? Well the Mexicans of course. They say that it was a slap in their face because it is a Mexican day not an American day.

I say, anyone who thinks this was OK is a moron. This is the United States of America, not Mexico. If you want to celebrate that is great but if I want to show my pride in my country, shut your mouth, you live here too.

So what happened on Thursday? Well 200 Mexican students walked out of their class to protest the flag "incident". They waved Mexican flags and said they were marching for respect and unity. They also wanted the kids who wore the American Flag shirts to be suspended.

Yet again, I say you are morons. United States of AMERICA, we can show our pride ANY day we want.

On top of this morons are calling and threatening schools in the area with Live Oak in their name. What you people don't like the American Flag also? Then move. Go home to Mexico.

If you have a problem with the flag then you shouldn't live here. Period.

Health Law Bans New Doctor-Owned Hospitals, Blocks Expansion of Existing Ones

(CNSNews.com) – The new health care overhaul law – that promised increased access and efficiency in health care – will prevent doctor-owned hospitals from adding more rooms and more beds.

These hospitals are advertised as less bureaucratic and more focused on doctor-patient decision making. However, larger corporate hospitals say doctor-owned facilities discriminate in favor of high-income patients and refer business to themselves.

The new rules single out physician-owned hospitals, making new physician-owned projects ineligible to receive payments for Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Existing doctor-owned hospitals will be grandfathered in to get government funds for patients but must seek permission from the Department of Health and Human Services to expand.

The get the department’s permission, a doctor-owned hospital must be in a county where population growth is 150 percent of the population growth of the state in the last five years; impatient admissions must be equal to all hospitals located in the county; the bed occupancy rate must not be greater than the state average, and it must be located in a state where hospital bed capacity is less than the national average.

These rules are under Title VI, Section 6001 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The provision is titled “Physician Ownership and Other Transparency – Limitations on Medicare Exceptions to the Prohibition on Certain Physician Referral for Hospitals.”

More than 60 doctor-owned hospitals across the country that were in the development stage will be canceled, said Molly Sandvig, executive director of Physician Hospitals of America (PHA).

“That’s a lot of access to communities that will be denied,” Sandvig told CNSNews.com. “The existing hospitals are greatly affected. They can’t grow. They can’t add beds. They can’t add rooms. Basically, it stifles their ability to change and meet market needs. This is really an unfortunate thing as well, because we are talking about some of the best hospitals in the country.”

The organization says physician-owned hospitals have higher patient satisfaction, greater control over medical decisions for patients and doctor, better quality care and lower costs. Further, physician-owned hospitals have an average 4-1 patient-to-nurse ratio, compared to the national average of 8-1 for general hospitals.

Further, these 260 doctor-owned hospitals in 38 states provide 55,000 jobs, $2.4 billion in payroll and pay $509 million in federal taxes, according to the PHA.

In one ironic aspect, President Barack Obama’s two largest legislative achievements clashed. The Hammond Community Hospital in North Hammond, Ind., got $7 million in bond money from the federal stimulus act in 2009. It will likely be scrapped because of the new rules on physician-owned hospitals, according to the Post-Tribune newspaper in Merrillville, Ind.

These hospitals have long been a target of the American Hospital Association, which represents corporate-owned hospitals as well as non-profit hospitals.

An AHA study from 2008 says that physician-owned hospitals “lessen patient access to emergency and trauma case;” “damage the financial health of full-service hospitals and lead to cutbacks in service;” “are not more efficient than full service community hospitals;” “use physician-owners to steer patients;” “cherry pick the most profitable patients;” and “provide limited or no emergency services.”

Meanwhile, one AHA fact sheet asserts that physician-owned orthopedic and surgical hospitals costs are 20 percent to 30 percent higher than average hospitals. Further, these hospitals just lead to higher profits for doctors, the AHA asserts.

“We don’t cherry pick patients, period, end of story. We take patients based on their need for care, not on their ability to pay,” Sandvig said. “It [the health care reform] puts control outside the hand of physicians and patients and into bureaucrats’ hands really.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is one of many organizations suing to have the law declared unconstitutional on the grounds that the federal government cannot compel someone to buy a product.

While the provision on physician hospitals is not part of the lawsuit, it will affect it, Dr. said Jane Orient, AAPS executive director.

“If the law is declared unconstitutional, then the prohibition is part of the bill,” Orient told CNSNews.com. “There are vested interests in getting rid of physician-owned hospitals because they do a better job and are more affordable.”

The provision in the legislation and efforts opposing these hospitals can be simply explained from Sandvig’s view.

“It’s anti-competitive. I think it’s pretty clear,” Sandvig said. “We’re a model that makes sense that’s affecting innovation. We’re trying to do something better than it has been done. Anytime you do that, there’s going to be a clash between the existing and the new. Unfortunately, it’s a real David and Goliath battle.”

Backdoor Taxes To Hit Middle Class

NEW YORK (Reuters.com) --The Obama administration's plan to cut more than $1 trillion from the deficit over the next decade relies heavily on so-called backdoor tax increases that will result in a bigger tax bill for middle-class families.

In the 2010 budget tabled by President Barack Obama on Monday, the White House wants to let billions of dollars in tax breaks expire by the end of the year -- effectively a tax hike by stealth.

While the administration is focusing its proposal on eliminating tax breaks for individuals who earn $250,000 a year or more, middle-class families will face a slew of these backdoor increases.

The targeted tax provisions were enacted under the Bush administration's Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001. Among other things, the law lowered individual tax rates, slashed taxes on capital gains and dividends, and steadily scaled back the estate tax to zero in 2010.

If the provisions are allowed to expire on December 31, the top-tier personal income tax rate will rise to 39.6 percent from 35 percent. But lower-income families will pay more as well: the 25 percent tax bracket will revert back to 28 percent; the 28 percent bracket will increase to 31 percent; and the 33 percent bracket will increase to 36 percent. The special 10 percent bracket is eliminated.

Investors will pay more on their earnings next year as well, with the tax on dividends jumping to 39.6 percent from 15 percent and the capital-gains tax increasing to 20 percent from 15 percent. The estate tax is eliminated this year, but it will return in 2011 -- though there has been talk about reinstating the death tax sooner.

Millions of middle-class households already may be facing higher taxes in 2010 because Congress has failed to extend tax breaks that expired on January 1, most notably a "patch" that limited the impact of the alternative minimum tax. The AMT, initially designed to prevent the very rich from avoiding income taxes, was never indexed for inflation. Now the tax is affecting millions of middle-income households, but lawmakers have been reluctant to repeal it because it has become a key source of revenue.

Without annual legislation to renew the patch this year, the AMT could affect an estimated 25 million taxpayers with incomes as low as $33,750 (or $45,000 for joint filers). Even if the patch is extended to last year's levels, the tax will hit American families that can hardly be considered wealthy -- the AMT exemption for 2009 was $46,700 for singles and $70,950 for married couples filing jointly.

Middle-class families also will find fewer tax breaks available to them in 2010 if other popular tax provisions are allowed to expire. Among them:

* Taxpayers who itemize will lose the option to deduct state sales-tax payments instead of state and local income taxes;

* The $250 teacher tax credit for classroom supplies;

* The tax deduction for up to $4,000 of college tuition and expenses;

* Individuals who don't itemize will no longer be able to increase their standard deduction by up to $1,000 for property taxes paid;

* The first $2,400 of unemployment benefits are taxable, in 2009 that amount was tax-free.

DSCC has decided on the best way for the Democrats to try and hold on to some of their Senate seats. The plan is to divide the Moderates from the Conservatives.

"Given the pressure Republican candidates feel from the extreme right in their party, there is a critical -- yet time-sensitive -- opportunity for Democratic candidates," the DSCC wrote in the memo, which was obtained by FoxNews.com. "We have a finite window when Republican candidates will feel susceptible to the extremists in their party. Given the urgent nature of this dynamic, we suggest an aggressive effort to get your opponents on the record."

The memo encourages Democratic candidates to compel their opponents to answer a series of questions on issues that have helped boost the tea party movement and reveal cracks in GOP unity, including health care, taxes and President Obama's citizenship and ideology.

Among the questions Democrats should ask Republican candidates:

"Do you believe that Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen? Do you think the 10th Amendment bars Congress from issuing regulations like minimum health care coverage standards? Do you think programs like Social Security and Medicare represent socialism and should never have been created in the first place? Do you think President Obama is a socialist? Do you think America should return to a gold standard?"

If a Republican answers no to any of the questions, the memo advises Democrats to "make their primary opponent or conservative activists know it. This will cause them to take heat from their primary opponents and could likely provoke a flip-flop, as it already has several times with Mark Kirk in Illinois."

If the Democrats think that this will help, they are wrong. The problem with the Democrats is that they are out of touch with the people. Instead of trying this scheme why don't they actually talk about facts? Why not talk about what you stand for and how you are going to help the country? No, to a Democrat the facts are not relevant.

"I couldn't be more proud of my mother for posing for the NOH8 campaign," daughter Meghan McCain tweeted on Wednesday morning. "I think more Republicans need to start taking a stand for and civil rights in this country and set the example that this is not a partisan issue."

I couldn't agree more but, to the gay community its a big but, I do not agree with changing the term "Marriage". Marriage is a religious right that is performed by a man and woman. If the Government changes the term it is meddling in religious affairs. Isnt it the Liberals who are always screaming about the seperation of Church and State?

I am all for civil unions and think that the Republicans could stand up for this.

For some reason I think the only reason John is against it is because of the religious vote.

This biggest problem I have with overturning Proposition 8 is that the people of California voted for this. The people have spoken all around the nation and do not want to change what the terms of marriage mean.

If a Judge overturns Proposition 8 isnt that a slap in the voters face?

This speech is as true today as it was back in 1961. In this video clip, Reagan talks of how in 1927, an American Socialist, Norman Thomas, 6 times a candidate for President under the Socialist Party ticket said the American people would never vote for Socialism, but under the name of Liberalism, the American people would adopt every fragment of the Socialist program.

Reagan also goes on to say that if the American people were given the chance to choose socialized medicine, they would unhesitatingly vote against it, as was seen during the Truman administration.

What is wrong with this guy? Obama announced, on the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Unions invasion of Poland, that the United States will not be building the missile shield in Eastern Europe.

Why is Obama giving in to Russia and Putin? This is after Venezuela just announced that Russia will be helping them build Nuclear plants and they are also against sanctions on Iran.

Is this man trying to make it so that we are not a global power?

This defense shield would help protect the United States and Europe from rogue nations like Iran, but Russia is trying to become the Soviet Union again and will do anything to get there.
