California To Ban Black Cars

Looks like Socialist California will be infringing on peoples lives even more. The Legislature their is planning on banning black and dark color cars because of so called "Global Warming." Even though more and more scientists are coming out against it.

California is a joke. This is America and people should be able to purchase the color of a car that they want. My question is will they ban black paint for everything?

If you're in the market for a black car in California, you better buy it quickly. The California Legislature is actually considering regulating the color of cars and the reflectivity of paint to reduce carbon emissions.

Darker colors don't reflect very well and therefore climate control systems in those cars have to work much harder to stay cool compared to their lighter colored counterparts, at least according to the California Air Resources Board.

The Washington Post reports the legislature is considering the extreme — including banning the sale of jet black cars. The Post reports if approved, the new regulations would be phased in as early as 2012.

Mastercard To Stop Online Tobacco Sales

Looks like Socialism is slipping into credit cards now. How much do you want to bet that the American Lung Association or someone along those lines are behind this. Who the hell is MasterCard to regulate what I buy. It is none of their damn business.

I smoke cigars now and then. If I want to, I should be able to. No one should be able to tell me no. When the hell did we leave America?

This is all I have to say!!!! I think it is time!!!!

Democrats To Save Newspapers

"This may not be the optimal choice for some major newspapers or corporate media chains but it should be an option for many newspapers that are struggling to stay afloat," said Senator Benjamin Cardin.

Let them fold! Do I like reading the paper now and then? Yes, but it is the thing of the past. Why must we hold on to them?

Cardin's Newspaper Revitalization Act would allow newspapers to operate as nonprofits for educational purposes under the U.S. tax code, giving them a similar status to public broadcasting companies.

For one Public broadcasting shouldn't be getting tax breaks, since they swing so hard on the political spectrum, but newspapers? Newspapers are not educational. This sounds like to me just another throw back to people that helped get someone in office.

Don't the people in Washington have more important things to worry about?

Obama Administration To Release Terrorists Into United States

For all of those people that wanted Guantanamo Bay closed, is this what you wanted? Did you really want these people in your back yard? No other country wants them so where did you think they were going to go?

Attorney General Eric Holder said some detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may end up being released in the U.S. as the Obama administration works with foreign allies to resettle some of the prisoners.
We should not close Gitmo. We should expand it. These people do not deserve an American trial, since they are not Americans. They are bent on the destruction of everything that YOU have.

In the two months of this Administration I have never been so worried for this country. Obama is destroying everything that we know and most people don't even realize it, especially the Obamaites. They are blind to what he is doing, he is their Messiah.

Obama Administration Readies Military Cuts

The people of America elect a Democrat and he runs through hacking and slashing the Military budget while handing out Billions to Corporations and Welfare programs. All this while China, Russia, North Korea and even Venezuela are beefing their military up. That's nice.

Two defense officials who were not authorized to speak publicly said Gates will announce up to a half-dozen major weapons cancellations later this month. Candidates include a new Navy destroyer, the Air Force's F-22 fighter jet, and Army ground-combat vehicles, the officials said.

More cuts are planned for later this year after a review that could lead to reductions in programs such as aircraft carriers and nuclear arms, the officials said
Don't try giving me the Gates is a Republican. He is going by what his boss says because he wants to keep his job. He is just a patsy, their so Obama can say that he didn't do it.

The United States "cannot expect to eliminate national security risks through higher defense budgets, to do everything and buy everything," Gates said. The next defense secretary, he warned, would have to eliminate some costly hardware and invest in new tools for fighting insurgents.

The Raptor is a next gen fighting machine. So is having an updated Destroyer and Aircraft Carrier. Gates is just pandering to his "kill the military" boss.

All this and Obama plans to charge wounded War Heros for Medical Service.

Yet Another Obama Administration Figure With Problems

Obama sure can pick them. His picks have had tons of legal problems, most with tax evasion. This administration is a joke.

A government watchdog agency is asking the U.S. Attorney's Office to open a bribery investigation into White House urban czar Adolfo Carrión. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington cited reports by the New York Daily News focusing on Carrión's dealings while he was Bronx borough president.

The reports say numerous developers made tens of thousands of dollars in campaign donations to Carrión around the same time he was considering approval for their projects in the community. He also hired an architect to design a renovation on his home but in the two years since the job was completed, Carrión has not yet paid his $3,600 bill.

But, according to the report, in that interim he approved the designer's developments repeatedly, even subsidizing one project with taxpayer money. The White House has declined to comment on the matter except to say Carrión should pay his bill.

Will Alabama Shooting Cause A New Ban On Semi Automatics?

I fear it may.

What drives me crazy is that one idiot causes so many problems so people think that $300,000,000 Americans must suffer for it.

First off, Automatic Weapons are already illegal. The only way to get one legally is to jump threw crazy hoops and throw a ton of money at it. Barely anyone has them.

What people do have is versions of weapons that are automatic for the military. They are Semi automatic for us. That means we have to keep pulling the trigger. People ask why do we need AR-15's? Why not? You can use them to hunt or home defense. I realize to the gun control crowd that it is a scary gun to you. It really isn't.

Let me ask the gun control crowd this. You say that so called " Assault Weapons" are only made for killing? Then should Mustangs, Corvettes and Camaros be banned since they are only made to go really fast? What do you need with a car that can exceed 70 mph?

Semi Automatic weapons are not the problem, but now with the gun ban crowd in office, they will soon be gone. Don't worry though, they will pay for it. Don't forget according to the gun ban crowd, pump shotguns are considered semi auto and should be banned.

President Obamas Economic Team

Looks like Obama still is not practicing what he preaches.

Some members of the president's newly-minted Economic Recovery Advisory Board have questionable economic pasts. The Washington Times reports the panel includes a billionaire whose failed bank pioneered the subprime mortgage market, a union executive who took the Fifth Amendment in a federal probe, and the head of the American branch of Swiss UBS investment bank, which is now at the center of a federal tax evasion probe.

If you ran a company would you hire any of these people? Then why would you hire them to help the country?

The report says 11 of the 16 board members donated or raised money for Democrats in the last election. They gave or gathered $1.2 million to President Obama's campaign.
Hmm. Give some money to them and they will hire you. I wonder if Obama promised these people these positions before he was elected?

Obama's Broken Promises

I keep coming across good articles. I love it when people put a list together like this. Makes it so that I don't have to do a ton of searches.

Obama’s Top Five Broken Promises
By Phil Kerpen
Director of Policy, Americans for Prosperity

Promise #5: Sunlight Before Signing

What he said:

“Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.” (BarackObama.com campaign Web site)

What he did:

Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter bill, the SCHIP/cigarette tax hike, and the stimulus bill all with far less than a five-day waiting period that he promised–and continues to promise–on his campaign Web site.

Promise #4: Lobbyist Revolving Door

What he said:

“No political appointees in an Obama-Biden administration will be permitted to work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years. And no political appointee will be able to lobby the executive branch after leaving government service during the remainder of the administration.” (BarackObama.com campaign Web site)

What he did:

Obama appointed Goldman Sachs lobbyists Mark Patterson chief of staff at the Treasury Department, where he directly oversees his former employer, a recipient of $10 billion of taxpayer funds from the TARP. Obama also appointed Raytheon lobbyist William Lynn to be an undersecretary of Defense.

Promise #3: No Tax Hikes on the Poor

What he said first:

“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.” (September 12, 2008, Dover, N.H.)

What he did first:

By signing H.R. 2 into law, Obama happily signed onto the idea that smokers should pay for a $35 billion expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP). Cigarette taxes are going up 61 cents a pack starting April 1. Obama signed this bill knowing that the majority of smokers in the United States are working poor, and one in four lives below the federal poverty line.

What he said next:

“If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime.” (February 24th, 2009, Address to a Joint Session of Congress)

What he did next:

Ignored the already-hiked cigarette tax at the time of the statement and then this restated promise was broken just two days later, when the Obama’s budget proposal was released. His new budget raises 45 percent of its revenue from energy taxes that will be paid by everyone who fills a gas tank, pays an electric bill, or buys anything that was grown, shipped, or manufactured.

Promise #2: Pork Barrel Earmark Reform

What he said:

“The system is broken. We can no longer accept a process that doles out earmarks based on a member of Congress’ seniority, rather than the merit of the project. We can no longer accept an earmarks process that has become so complicated to navigate that a municipality or non-profit group has to hire high-priced D.C. lobbyists to do it. And we can no longer accept an earmarks process in which many of the projects being funded fail to address the real needs of our country.”

(Statement on Earmarks, March 10, 2008)

What he is expected to do:

The White House has signaled that it intends to sign the $410 billion Omnibus Appropriations bill, which according to Taxpayers for Common Sense, contains 8,570 earmarks totaling $7.7 billion, including dozens of wasteful pork-barrel projects. These earmarks were awarded based on seniority, not on merit, and were mostly the result of high-priced lobbying, precisely the process that Obama promised to end. When the omnibus reaches his desk later this week or next week, we’ll find out if this is one more broken promise.

Promise #1: Big Government

OK, so this one is more of a statement than a promise, but it’s the biggest whopper of all.

What he said:

“Not because I believe in bigger government — I don’t.” (February 24, 2009, Joint Address to Congress)

What he did:

Obama proposed a budget that is breathtaking in scope, a blueprint for the biggest permanent expansion of government in history right on the heels of a sweeping trillion dollar stimulus plan. The budget lays the foundation for a government takeover of the health care and energy sectors and dramatically increasing spending across the board, other than defense weapons programs. Spending as a percentage of the economy under this budget will reach the historic level of 27.7 percent this year. The deficit as a percent of the economy, at 12.3 percent, is set to be the biggest in the entire history of the country outside of the four peak years of World War II. Anyone who offers such a budget can only fairly be described as a believer in bigger government.

Obama; Tax Hikes For All

Cant say it better then what Phil wrote.

Obama’s Scary Hoover-Style Tax Hikes
By Phil Kerpen
Director of Policy, Americans for Prosperity

The composition of the tax hikes in the 2010 budget is frighteningly similar to the Revenue Act of 1932, the much-maligned Hoover tax hikes that put the “Great” in Great Depression by putting an enormous tax burden on millions of Americans, largely through excise taxes. These taxes, raised even further by FDR, were justified by the promise that the funds would be returned in the form of relief programs, which is to say that some portion of the tax revenue, after administrative costs in Washington, would go back to the states with strings attached, often to further political rather than economic objectives.

As the table below shows, the Obama budget blueprint, like the 1932 act, is split mainly between broad excise taxes and income tax hikes on high income earners. Unfortunately, there were no 10-years projections back then, so I had to use one year numbers, but it’s still an interesting comparison.

Courtesy Phil Kerpen

The 2010 budget assumes, probably correctly, that the only way to generate a big revenue increase in the face of severe economic weakness is to use a tax mechanism–the excise tax–that is collected in relatively small increments across millions of transactions made by Americans of all income levels. That is a direct lesson of 1932, when the income tax on the rich–then the only people who paid income taxes–was raised to capture as much revenue as possible before high-income earners fled the country or stopped working. Then, as now, that amount was about 0.3 percent of GDP.

Excise taxes did most of the revenue work in the 1932 act, including excises on everything from trucks, tires, jewelry, chewing gum, and soft drinks to gasoline and electricity. Those last two are especially interesting in light of the carbon cap-and-trade proposal in the 2010 budget, which is a de facto excise tax on those items as well as every other energy technology that relies on the most affordable energy sources: natural gas, oil, and coal.

Despite President Obama’s promise that “If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increase a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime,” his new budget raises 45 percent of its revenue from energy taxes that will be paid by everyone who fills a gas tank, pays an electric bill, or buys anything that was grown, shipped, or manufactured.

While the overall tax hike is smaller than 1932 (0.9 percent of GDP versus 1.6 percent of GDP) and the excise/energy component is only half the size (0.4 percent of GDP versus 0.8 percent of GDP) there is every reason to believe that the bite of the cap-and-trade tax will increase considerably beyond the initial projections, making this plan even more resemble 1932.

The cap-and-trade provisions are designed to get much, much more expensive over time, making the total impact hard to quantify but likely to be as or more expensive than the 1932 Revenue Act. In fact, Obama’s version of cap-and-trade is much more expensive than last year’s already outrageous Lieberman-Warner bill, mandating emissions cuts of 83 percent versus 63 percent in last year’s version.

I didn’t include the death tax in the chart, because there was no revenue estimate for it in 1932, but that’s another eerie parallel. In 1932 the rate was hiked from 20 percent to 45 percent, and in 2010, under Obama’s proposal (which is hidden in a footnote in the budget) it will go from zero under current law to that same 45 percent rate.

If we continue down a path of repeating the policies of the 1930s we risk a repeat of the same results. Let’s hope Congress has the good sense to say no to these Hoover-style tax hikes.

Obama To Come After Guns
