John Rich: Shutting Detroit Down Video
People should watch this video and think. Why would we dump so much money into the banking industry with no strings attached, yet demand so much for a LOAN to the Auto Industry? You Union folks should really listen, is Obama, the one the UAW backed, really there for you?
For all those Democrats in Ann Arbor that buy nothing but Toyota, SHAME ON YOU!!!! My father is UAW and worked hard all his life, same with my Grandfather. I don't support the UAW but I do support the workers. BUY AMERICAN CARS!!!!!

If you like this song, Del McCoury gathered up some of his friends including Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris and Bruce Hornsby and put out an entire record last year on the state of the American economy. Check out Moneyland here http://www.mccourymusic.net/index.cfm.

This viedo really hit home for our family, my husband recently got laid off after 20 years working for the same electrcal company. He was on the board of directors, and had worked in the field on many constuction site's. He is 54 years old, over 1/2 of his 401k is gone and he has had 3 liver tranplants. In the mean time he has watched men who have worked only 2-3 years more then he hire their sons and son-in-laws. My heart aches to watch him worry about our "Golden Years". I know their are many family's just like ours, who really truly "can't afford to die" Good for you John Rich for writing a song that tells the blue collar man's life!! Kelly from Utah
I lived in MI most of my life and this song really hits home. I can remember a time when the Auto Industry kept America going, I think it still does today as you will see when they start shutting these plants down and the trickle effect it will have. It is too bad that there is so much greed in America today and we forget about the middle class hard working folks. I have 2 sons that live in MI and hope things turn around quickly, not only for them but for all the hard working people who live in America that have been effected by all of this BULLSHIT!
You know if anmerican cars were made here it would be nice. It would also be nice if you could go 120,000 miles w/o replacing your transmission.I love my plymouth voyager but it won't make 150,000 miles my nissan is already past it w/o major repairs.
Shame on anybody who watched this video or posted a comment bragging about their foriegn vehicles. It might be a fact that the parts that make up an American vehicle arent American made but the real fact is that they are assembled in the USA supplying millions of AMERICAN people with JOBS. So keep buying those pieces of shit foriegn cars that are assembled in a sweat shops with chop sticks but when you have no money dont even dare asking for economic stimulus money because none of us blue collar people are crying for you people who put us all out of jobs. If you want to buy another foriegn vehicle just move to that country because we dont need you here. Blue collar people build America and while doctors and lawyers sit back and relax for ripping people off, the people that built thier world are losing their homes. Support Our Troops, Support Our Unions, Support Our Products, BUY AMERICAN!
My son and I have a bet that Kris and Mickey did not take a paycheck for this video shoot. Could someone help us with this info.?
