John McCain & The Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005

John McCain tried to help fix the Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac mess in 2005. The Democrats squashed it.

FEDERAL HOUSING ENTERPRISE REGULATORY REFORM ACT OF 2005
The United States Senate

May 25, 2006

Section 16

John McCain

Mr. President, this week Fannie Mae's regulator reported that the company's quarterly reports of profit growth over the past few years were "illusions deliberately and systematically created" by the company's senior management, which resulted in a $10.6 billion accounting scandal.

The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight's report goes on to say that Fannie Mae employees deliberately and intentionally manipulated financial reports to hit earnings targets in order to trigger bonuses for senior executives. In the case of Franklin Raines, Fannie Mae's former chief executive officer, OFHEO's report shows that over half of Mr. Raines' compensation for the 6 years through 2003 was directly tied to meeting earnings targets. The report of financial misconduct at Fannie Mae echoes the deeply troubling $5 billion profit restatement at Freddie Mac.

The OFHEO report also states that Fannie Mae used its political power to lobby Congress in an effort to interfere with the regulator's examination of the company's accounting problems. This report comes some weeks after Freddie Mac paid a record $3.8 million fine in a settlement with the Federal Election Commission and restated lobbying disclosure reports from 2004 to 2005. These are entities that have demonstrated over and over again that they are deeply in need of reform.

For years I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac--known as Government-sponsored entities or GSEs--and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the housing market. OFHEO's report this week does nothing to ease these concerns. In fact, the report does quite the contrary. OFHEO's report solidifies my view that the GSEs need to be reformed without delay.

I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.

I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation.

Democrats Defend Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac In 2004

The Media and Democrats are running around trying to blame this on the Republicans, you can watch this video and find out for yourselves whose to blame. The Republicans wanted to investigate Fannie and Freddie in 2004 but the Democrats, being the leading Politicians in taking money from them, would not allow it.

Obama Squashing The Freedom Of Speech

Now Obama is telling his people to attack anyone that basically questions him in Missouri. This is not what I want from my President. Did you see George Bush doing this with all the rampant lies people put out about him?

Here is a statement from the Governor of Missouri Matt Blunt.

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.

“Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.”

This is illegal but the Main Stream Media will not cover something like this. The people who are thinking of voting for this man, need to wake up.

The First Of The Presidential Debates

It was hard watching the debates last night. I had to go out so I Tivo'd it. I ended up watching it at 3 in the morning when all I wanted to do was sleep.

This debate was technically cut into two segments because of what has happened with the economy. I don't really think that there was a clear cut winner in the economy section. They both had OK points. The sad thing is that I know that McCain could have done a lot better. There were some jabs on both sides but it was a draw. I would give them both a C on this section.

On the second section, which was about foreign affairs, I say that McCain won. He put Obama on the defensive the whole time and picked up a few lines for TV and Radio ads, but not enough. Obama does not get it when it comes to sitting down with Dictators and he showed that. Obama also said a bunch of times how he agrees with McCain. It felt like to me that he didn't know what to say so he just agreed. I would give McCain a B+, since he really didn't deliver and blows and Obama a C in this section.

So my conclusion is that McCain won this debate, but not by much. He really better do better next time since he is down in the polls right now.

As an added note, I think it is hilarious when you go on the Medias websites and the Democrats have flooded their polls and comments section. Only an idiot couldn't tell that it was attacked. The same thing happened to the Bush / Kerry debates. All of the Big Media said that Kerry won, then Kerry got smacked down in the election.

Obama Garden Grant Being Probed For Misuse Of Money

Just read the article. The only comment I have is that I think it is funny that an Obama supporter is probing this. Like they will tell the truth.

Obama grant being probed

$100,000 DEAL | State to charity: What happened to garden money, other cash?

BY CHRIS FUSCO AND DAVE MCKINNEY

A $100,000 state grant for a botanic garden in Englewood that then-state Sen. Barack Obama awarded in 2001 to a group headed by a onetime campaign volunteer is now under investigation by the Illinois attorney general amid new questions, prompted by Chicago Sun-Times reports, about whether the money might have been misspent.

The garden was never built. And now state records obtained by the Sun-Times show $65,000 of the grant money went to the wife of Kenny B. Smith, the Obama 2000 congressional campaign volunteer who heads the Chicago Better Housing Association, which was in charge of the project for the blighted South Side neighborhood.

Smith wrote another $20,000 in grant-related checks to K.D. Contractors, a construction company that his wife, Karen D. Smith, created five months after work on the garden was supposed to have begun, records show. K.D. is no longer in business.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan -- a Democrat who is supporting Obama's presidential bid -- is investigating "whether this charitable organization properly used its charitable assets, including the state funds it received," Cara Smith, Madigan's deputy chief of staff, said Wednesday.

In addition to the 2001 grant that Obama directed to the housing association as a "member initiative," the not-for-profit group got a separate $20,000 state grant in 2006.

Madigan's office has notified Obama's presidential campaign of the probe, which was launched this week. But Obama's actions in awarding the money are not a focus of the investigation, Smith said.

Questions about the grant, though, come as spending on local pet projects has become an issue in Obama's campaign against John McCain.

Obama and Kenny Smith announced the "Englewood Botanic Garden Project" at a January 2000 news conference at Englewood High School. Obama was in the midst of a failed bid to oust South Side Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush for a seat in Congress. The garden -- planned near and under L tracks between 59th Place and 62nd Place -- fell outside of Obama's Illinois Senate district but within the congressional district's borders.

Obama vowed to "work tirelessly" to raise $1.1 million to help Smith's organization turn the City of Chicago-owned lot into an oasis of trees and paths. But Obama lost the congressional race, no more money was raised, and today the garden site is a mess of weeds, chunks of concrete and garbage. The only noticeable improvement is a gazebo.

In a previous interview, Smith said the state grant money was legitimately spent, mostly on underground site preparation.

But no one ever took out construction permits required for such work, city records show. And a contractor who Smith said did most of the work told a reporter all he did was cut down trees and grade the site with a Bobcat.

Citing the garden's failure to take root, NeighborSpace -- an umbrella group for dozens of community gardens citywide -- moved Sept. 9 to return the site to the city. Its action followed a July 11 Sun-Times report on the grant.

Obama spokesman Michael Ortiz said Wednesday the senator's staff in Washington will monitor the Madigan probe and an additional review under way by Gov. Blagojevich's administration to make sure "the taxpayer funds allocated for the construction of the garden are recuperated from CBHA if the agencies determine that the funds were not properly spent." Obama's goal is to ensure the site "be used in a way that benefits the community and that any taxpayer dollars allocated are spent wisely," Ortiz said.

The relationship between Smith and Obama dates to at least 1997, when Obama wrote a letter that Smith used to help the housing association win city funding for an affordable-housing development near the garden site. Plans called for more than 50 homes; a dozen ultimately were built.

Smith also has donated $550 to Obama campaign funds.

The Sun-Times learned about Karen Smith's involvement in the project through an Aug. 12 Freedom of Information Act response from a lawyer for Blagojevich¹s Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The department, according to the lawyer, had ³discovered² 52 pages of ³additional documents² ommitted from an initial response in May to a Sun-Times¹ Freedom of Information Act request about the grant.

Neither Smith nor his wife has been accused of any wrongdoing. Smith and his lawyer did not return repeated calls seeking comment.

In an interview in July, Smith said he was never able to raise the money needed for the garden. But the state grant awarded by Obama was spent properly, he said, on the underground work, with most of the work done by a contractor whose name Smith got wrong.

The Sun-Times tracked down the contractor, Rodolfo Marin, in Austin, Texas, where he now lives.

"What I was hired for was: Clean up the area and cut the trees -- that's all," Marin said. He said he rented a Bobcat -- a sort of small bulldozer -- for the project.

And how much did Smith pay him? "If he spent about $3,000 with me, that was too much."

Anti Gun Group American Hunters & Shooters Association Endorses Obama

This is a few months old but needs to be brought back out. Now you may think that because of the name of this group that it is a pro gun rights group. Well lets take a look at the leadership before you read what the President of this group wrote about Obama.

Robert Ricker (Executive Director, AHSA)

• Paid witness against the firearms industry for cases where plaintiffs attempted to hold gun manufacturers liable for the criminal misuse of their products by third parties.

• Monthly salary of $3000; AHSA claims no more than 150 members who pay $25 dues. The rest of the money comes from "individual contributions" with the largest contributors on the AHSA board of directors.

• Paid an hourly fee of $225 to $250 dollars for testimony, depositions, and meetings with the Brady Campaign.

• Consults for the Educational Fund to End Handgun Violence (the "educational" arm of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence). (http://www.csgv.org/

• Consults with Virginians for Public Safety (http://www.vapublicsafety.com/) (lobbying for additional restrictions on law abiding gun owners).

Ray Schoenke (President, AHSA)

• Mr. Schoenke, his wife, his daughter and son have been generous donors of anti-gun candidates including: Al Gore, Barbara Boxer, Bill Clinton, Dianne Feinstein, Ted Kennedy, Carolyn McCarthy and John Kerry.

• Mr. Schoenke and his wife donated $10,000 to Handgun Control, Inc. (HCI) in 2000.

• Mr. Schoenke’s daughter and son each contributed $5000 to HCI in 2000.
John Rosenthal (President, AHSA Foundation)

• Rosenthal is the leader of Stop Handgun Violence, the principal anti-gun group in the state of Massachusetts (credited with being the "political force behind the strict gun control laws of Massachusetts")

• Rosenthal is a former member of the HCI board of directors, now known as the Brady Campaign.

• Rosenthal has most recently focused his energy on voicing opposition to firearms’ advertisements during sporting events.

Jody Powell (Co-Chairman, AHSA Advisory Board)

• Press Secretary for one of the most anti-gun U.S. administrations, President Jimmy Carter.

Joe Vince (Board Member, AHSA)

• Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) architect of the Clinton-Gore regulatory assault on the Second Amendment.

• His company Crime Gun Solutions (CGS) employs a number of other ex-ATF officials including Gerard Nunziato, who told the Houston Chronicle that "If it wasn’t for criminals, there wouldn’t be a gun industry in this country."

• Crime Gun Solutions provides consulting services for the lawyers at the Brady Campaign, frequently appearing as paid expert witnesses in lawsuits against the firearms industry.

Now you tell me that this is a Pro gun group. Looks Like Barack Obama has a ANTI GUN group endorsing him. I bring this up now because CBS news decided to run an article about the NRA bringing up Gun rights against Obama. In their article they use AHSA as the case that Obama is actually for gun rights. Now you know its a lie.

Ray Schoenke
Hunters and Shooters Support Obama: He "Gets It"

Today, as president of the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA), I announced our endorsement of Senator Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for president of the United States. Because the gun issue has recently become a factor in the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania, I want to share the remarks I made today:

As a gun rights organization we have not come to this decision lightly. We were formed two years ago because our research shows that millions of gun owners wanted a change. They not only wanted an organization that would protect their gun rights but an organization that was also committed to the protection of their communities as well as the protection of our lands.

We reached out to the Obama campaign several weeks ago to offer our support and approval as was reported by Paul Bedard of US News and World Report.

We believe recent attacks on Senator Obama's stand on the 2nd Amendment and his commitment to our hunting and shooting heritage are unfair and American Hunters and Shooters Association is stepping up to set the record straight.

Senator Obama has clearly demonstrated his commitment to the 2nd Amendment by his vote in support of the Vitter amendment to HR 5441, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill of 2007. This amendment prevents the Government from confiscating guns in a time of crisis or emergency.

Imagine how the citizens felt during Hurricane Katrina when government agents kicked in doors to confiscate law abiding citizens' guns at a time when they needed them the most. We know Senator Obama "gets it." To say that he is an elitist is patently ridiculous.

To hunters and shooters everywhere, Senator Obama's vote demonstrated a fundamental understanding of the meaning of the 2nd Amendment which means he recognizes the individual right of all citizens to keep and bear arms. Senator Clinton, on the hand, failed to grasp the importance of this critical issue to hunters and shooters and voted against this Amendment. She turned her back on America's gun owners.

In addition, Senator Obama's commitment to conservation and protection of our natural resources and access to public lands demonstrates to us his commitment to America's hunting and shooting heritage.

Senator Obama will be a strong and authentic voice for America's hunters and shooters and it is with great pleasure that we endorse his candidacy.

A Lesson For Obama On Economics

It would be nice if Obama would watch this, but he is a Socialist and would not care.

NRA's New TV & Radio Ads Against Obama

The National Rifle Association will be running these ad's in New Mexico, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. The ads will run on cable TV in all three battleground states: CMT, CNN, DISC, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News, ESX, FXNC, GOLFm, HIST, MIL, NFL, Outdoor Channel, Speed, Spike, TBS, TNT, TWC, and Versus.

They are also running Radio ads on 60 radio stations in Pennsylvania, 22 radio stations in Colorado, and an undisclosed number in New Mexico.

Why not Michigan? We are a big gun rights and hunting state despite having mostly Democrats running things.

Sarah Palin's Speech To Protest Iran

Of course you know that she will not give this speech because Clinton found out that she would be at the rally and withdrew. This caused the rally to cut Palin out saying that they didn't want it to be political. I doubt that but here is the speech anyways.

I am honored to be with you and with leaders from across this great country - leaders from different faiths and political parties united in a single voice of outrage.

Tomorrow, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will come to New York - to the heart of what he calls the Great Satan - and speak freely in this, a country whose demise he has called for.

Ahmadinejad may choose his words carefully, but underneath all of the rhetoric is an agenda that threatens all who seek a safer and freer world. We gather here today to highlight the Iranian dictator's intentions and to call for action to thwart him.
He must be stopped.

The world must awake to the threat this man poses to all of us. Ahmadinejad denies that the Holocaust ever took place. He dreams of being an agent in a "Final Solution" - the elimination of the Jewish people. He has called Israel a "stinking corpse" that is "on its way to annihilation."

Such talk cannot be dismissed as the ravings of a madman -not when Iran just this summer tested long-range Shahab-3 missiles capable of striking Tel Aviv, not when the Iranian nuclear program is nearing completion, and not when Iran sponsors terrorists that threaten and kill innocent people around the world.

The Iranian government wants nuclear weapons. The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran is running at least 3,800 centrifuges and that its uranium enrichment capacity is rapidly improving. According to news reports, U.S. intelligence agencies believe the Iranians may have enough nuclear material to produce a bomb within a year.

The world has condemned these activities. The United Nations Security Council has demanded that Iran suspend its illegal nuclear enrichment activities. It has levied three rounds of sanctions. How has Ahmadinejad responded? With the declaration that the "Iranian nation would not retreat one iota" from its nuclear program.

So, what should we do about this growing threat? First, we must succeed in Iraq. If we fail there, it will jeopardize the democracy the Iraqis have worked so hard to build, and empower the extremists in neighboring Iran. Iran has armed and trained terrorists who have killed our soldiers in Iraq, and it is Iran that would benefit from an American defeat in Iraq.

If we retreat without leaving a stable Iraq, Iran's nuclear ambitions will be bolstered. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons ? they could share them tomorrow with the terrorists they finance, arm, and train today. Iranian nuclear weapons would set off a dangerous regional nuclear arms race that would make all of us less safe.

But Iran is not only a regional threat; it threatens the entire world. It is the no. 1 state sponsor of terrorism. It sponsors the world's most vicious terrorist groups, Hamas and Hezbollah. Together, Iran and its terrorists are responsible for the deaths of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s, in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, and in Iraq today. They have murdered Iraqis, Lebanese, Palestinians, and other Muslims who have resisted Iran's desire to dominate the region. They have persecuted countless people simply because they are Jewish.

Iran is responsible for attacks not only on Israelis, but on Jews living as far away as Argentina. Anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial are part of Iran's official ideology and murder is part of its official policy. Not even Iranian citizens are safe from their government's threat to those who want to live, work, and worship in peace. Politically-motivated abductions, torture, death by stoning, flogging, and amputations are just some of its state-sanctioned punishments.

It is said that the measure of a country is the treatment of its most vulnerable citizens. By that standard, the Iranian government is both oppressive and barbaric. Under Ahmadinejad's rule, Iranian women are some of the most vulnerable citizens.

If an Iranian woman shows too much hair in public, she risks being beaten or killed. If she walks down a public street in clothing that violates the state dress code, she could be arrested.

But in the face of this harsh regime, the Iranian women have shown courage. Despite threats to their lives and their families, Iranian women have sought better treatment through the "One Million Signatures Campaign Demanding Changes to Discriminatory Laws." The authorities have reacted with predictable barbarism. Last year, women's rights activist Delaram Ali was sentenced to 20 lashes and 10 months in prison for committing the crime of "propaganda against the system." After international protests, the judiciary reduced her sentence to "only" 10 lashes and 36 months in prison and then temporarily suspended her sentence. She still faces the threat of imprisonment.

Earlier this year, Senator Clinton said that "Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is in the forefront of that" effort. Senator Clinton argued that part of our response must include stronger sanctions, including the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. John McCain and I could not agree more.

Senator Clinton understands the nature of this threat and what we must do to confront it. This is an issue that should unite all Americans. Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. Period. And in a single voice, we must be loud enough for the whole world to hear: Stop Iran!
Only by working together, across national, religious, and political differences, can we alter this regime's dangerous behavior. Iran has many vulnerabilities, including a regime weakened by sanctions and a population eager to embrace opportunities with the West. We must increase economic pressure to change Iran's behavior.

Tomorrow, Ahmadinejad will come to New York. On our soil, he will exercise the right of freedom of speech - a right he denies his own people. He will share his hateful agenda with the world. Our task is to focus the world on what can be done to stop him.

We must rally the world to press for truly tough sanctions at the U.N. or with our allies if Iran's allies continue to block action in the U.N. We must start with restrictions on Iran's refined petroleum imports. We must reduce our dependency on foreign oil to weaken Iran's economic influence.
We must target the regime's assets abroad; bank accounts, investments, and trading partners.

President Ahmadinejad should be held accountable for inciting genocide, a crime under international law.

We must sanction Iran's Central Bank and the Revolutionary Guard Corps -which no one should doubt is a terrorist organization. Together, we can stop Iran's nuclear program.

Senator McCain has made a solemn commitment that I strongly endorse: Never again will we risk another Holocaust. And this is not a wish, a request, or a plea to Israel's enemies. This is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us. It is John McCain's promise and it is my promise.

Thank you.

Barack Obama's Connections With Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac

Thanks to Jay from Stop The ACLU for finding this video.

Watch the whole thing and tell me that John McCain has anything to do with these companies going down? If McCain can not seize on this issue I don't know what he can. There needs to be adds showing this.

Thank you Democrats for ruining the market and trying to pin it on the Republicans. You guys are good at not taking blame for anything.

Obama To Give $50 Billion To United Nations

Barack Obama and Joe Biden have said that they will give $50 Billion dollars to a United Nations program that the U.N. will give to poor countries.

I don't know about you but I don't trust the U.N. with any money. Look what happened with the Oil for Food program that they were running.

“Obama and Biden will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and they will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal,” the candidates vow in their campaign platform.

With our massive debt we plan to give money to other countries? I thought you were claiming that you would be able to balance the budget and not raise taxes.

“It goes down a bureaucratic rat-hole, lining the pockets of people who are connected to the power structure,” said Hanke, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute. “It’s basically a system to redistribute income from middle class people in the United States to rich people in poor countries. It never reaches those people who are living on a dollar a day.”

That's right because the United Nations is in the pockets of the rich tyrants around the world. The only reason that we have any kind of say is because we have veto power.

Obama also sponsored the Global Poverty Act which, if passed, would require the president to commit to cutting global poverty in half by 2015. Critics say that would cost American taxpayers $845 billion.

Wow! So we are going to GIVE $50 billion to the U.N. then spend another $845 billion to do the same thing. Why not give that back to the tax payers?

This is wealth distribution people and anyone that doesn't think that he will be taking money from them is insane. This will come from ANYONE that is not part of the poor in America. You basically will work for yourself, your family, and people around the world.

ACLU Files Suit In Michigan, For Voter Fraud

The American Civil Liberties Union, a far left organization, has filed a suit against Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land. The ACLU is trying to stop two voter purging programs that stops voter fraud. They claim that this disenfranchises hundreds of thousand of voters when it actually forces people to abide by the law.

"With Michigan set to be one of the most important battleground states in this election and turnout predicted to be the highest in state history, we are going to do everything we can to make sure ... that nobody is illegally purged from the voter rolls," ACLU Michigan director Kary Moss said in a statement.

They are not illegally purged. Most voter fraud happens on the Democrat side of the ticket and the ACLU will do anything that they can to make sure that their fraudulent ballots get counted.

Secretary of State spokeswoman Kelly Chesney said Land hasn't been served with the complaint. But based on news media reports, she said, "it appears these groups are challenging laws that have been on the books since 1975."

One program immediately cancels the registrations of voters who obtain driver's licenses in other states instead of issuing confirmation notices and following procedures required by the voter registration act.

A second program requires local clerks to nullify the registrations of newly registered voters when their original voter identifications cards are returned as undeliverable by postal authorities.

These laws stop about 200,000 fraudulent ballots. These are the laws people, follow them. Without these I could just go sign up with any address I wanted.

Fifty Five Catholic Bishops Denounce Joe Biden

Fifty five Catholic Bishops have come out and denounced Barack Obamas running mate, Joe Biden. That's not all. Biden is being attacked by Catholic newspapers, TV and radio stations, and blogs across the United States.

Archbishop Raymond Burke, former Archbishop of St Louis and now Prefect of the Apostolic Segnatura in Rome, said communion should be denied to pro-abortion politicians "until they have reformed their lives".

Archbishop Chaput of Denver announced Biden should not receive communion because of his pro-abortion views. Biden defiantly took Communion after this in his home parish in Delaware.

The Bishop of Scranton, Pennsylvania banned him from communion in his diocese. Pennsylvania is a huge swing state this year.

Biden has done a great job of killing Obamas chances with Catholics.

On NBC's Meet the Press programme on September 7 Biden grossly misrepresented the Catholic Church's teaching on abortion and audaciously cited St Thomas Aquinas in his own cause.

That did it. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had already done the same thing on the same programme, in her instance citing St Augustine. Even the torpid US bishops could not have false doctrine glibly broadcast by public figures, misleading their flock. So the counterattack described here last week began, culminating in a statement from the US Bishops' Conference. The bishops of Kansas City have also issued a pastoral letter on the subject. It is open season on Biden.

There are 47 million Catholic voters in the United States. One quarter of all registered voters are Catholics. At every presidential election in the past 30 years the Catholic vote has gone to the winning candidate, except for Al Gore in 2000. This year 41 per cent of Catholics are independents - up from 30 per cent in 2004. Psephologists claim practising Catholics were the decisive factor in the crucial swing states in 2004: in Ohio 65 per cent of Catholics voted for Bush, in Florida 66 per cent. They were drifting away in disillusionment from the Republicans and split 50-50, until Joe Biden worked his magic. This is electoral suicide by the Democrats.

Most of the Catholics that I know will not vote for a man that believes in "killing unborn children." Myself personally, I am against abortion but I would have a hard time voting on the issue. Biden though has shown how he would vote.

Obama Wants Supporters To Fight With Republicans

Looks like Barack Obama and Kwame Kilpatrick do have a lot in common. Obama is now asking his supporters to result to thug tactics to help him win. There is just one problem, while Democrats protest and scream and shout, Republicans show up at the polls.

"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face," Obama said.

"And if they tell you that, 'Well, we're not sure where he stands on guns.' I want you to say, 'He believes in the Second Amendment.' If they tell you, 'Well, he's going to raise your taxes,' you say, 'No, he's not, he's going lower them.' You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case."

For the Second Amendment?

I don't think so. Obama is for large amounts of gun restrictions. He is for banning hand guns, banning ALL semi Automatics, limiting to one gun a month, forcing all gun owners to get a Government ID, and closing down all gun stores within 5 miles of schools. The school thing may sound smart but in most cities schools are less then 5 miles apart. That would mean that gun stores could only be in rural areas.

Not going to raise taxes?

He says that he will only raise taxes on people making over $250,000. This may be true BUT he will also raise taxes on Corporations and small business, he will hit the oil industries with large tax increases, he will reinstate the death tax and raise the capital gains tax to 39 percent. So what does this mean to you? Corporations, small business and big oil will just pass that tax down to you, so that means basically your being taxed. If your mother or father dies and leaves you a house or money, well the Government will want a portion of that and with the capital gains tax being at 39 percent, if you sell your house 39 percent of what you make will go to the Government.

Is this what we want people? Tell Obama to fight for himself that you do not want these high taxes and draconian gun laws.

Why Iraq Oil Is Going To China

No Oil for Blood

By Frederick W. Kagan

This morning, I had the honor of testifying before the House Budget Committee on the situation in Iraq. The discussion was polite and civilized, and was a reminder that even now it is possible for people who disagree about what to do in Iraq to argue without raised voices and disagreeable language (apart from the Code Pink women, yelling for those who think that shouting opponents down is preferable to arguing with them). Congressman Brian Baird once again demonstrated that it is possible even for those who bitterly opposed the war to recognize the importance of doing the right thing now--as well as the possibility of crossing the Republican-Democrat sectarian divide on this issue. One question came up repeatedly in the hearing that deserves more of an answer than it got, however: Why, after all the assistance we've given to Iraq over the past five years, was the first major Iraqi oil deal signed with China and not with an American or even a western company? The answer is, in part, because three Democratic senators intervened in Iraqi domestic politics earlier this year to prevent Iraq from signing short-term agreements with Exxon Mobil, Shell, Total, Chevron, and BP.

The Iraqi government was poised to sign no-bid contracts with those firms this summer to help make immediate and needed improvements in Iraq's oil infrastructure. The result would have been significant foreign investment in Iraq, an expansion of Iraqi government revenues, and an increase in the global supply of oil. One would have thought that leading Democratic senators who claim to be interested in finding other sources of funding to replace American dollars in Iraq, in helping Iraq spend its own money on its own people, and in lowering the price of gasoline for American citizens, would have been all for it. Instead, Senators Chuck Schumer, John Kerry, and Claire McCaskill wrote a letter to Secretary of State Rice asking her "to persuade the GOI [Government of Iraq] to refrain from signing contracts with multinational oil companies until a hydrocarbon law is in effect in Iraq." The Bush administration wisely refused to do so, but the resulting media hooraw in Iraq led to the cancellation of the contracts, and helps to explain why Iraq is doing oil deals instead with China.

Senators Schumer, McCaskill, and Kerry claimed to be acting from the purest of motives: "It is our fear that this action by the Iraqi government could further deepen political tensions in Iraq and put our service members in even great danger." For that reason, presumably, Schumer went so far as to ask the senior vice president of Exxon "if his company would agree to wait until the GOI produced a fair, equitable, and transparent hydrocarbon revenue sharing law before it signed any long-term agreement with the GOI." Exxon naturally refused, but Schumer managed to get the deal killed anyway. But the ostensible premise of the senators' objections was false--Iraq may not have a hydrocarbons law, but the central government has been sharing oil revenues equitably and there is no reason at all to imagine that signing the deals would have generated increased violence (and this was certainly not the view of American civilian and military officials on the ground in Iraq at the time). It is certain that killing the deals has delayed the maturation of Iraq's oil industry without producing the desired hydrocarbons legislation.

Nor is it entirely clear what the senators' motivations were. Their release (available along with their letter to Secretary Rice at the New York Observer quoted Senator McCaskill as follows: "'It's bad enough that we have no-bid contracts being awarded for work in Iraq. It's bad enough that the big oil companies continue to receive government handouts while they post record breaking profits. But now the most profitable companies in the universe--America's biggest oil companies--stand to reap the rewards of this no-bid contract on top of it all,' McCaskill said. 'It doesn't take a rocket scientist to connect these dots--big oil is running Washington and now they're running Baghdad. There is no reason under the sun not to halt these agreements until we get revenue sharing in place,' McCaskill said." So was this about what's best for Iraq and American interests there or about nailing "big oil" in an election year?

Either way, like Barack Obama's asking the Iraqi foreign minister to hold off on a strategic framework agreement until after the American election, it was nothing but harmful to American interests and our prospects in Iraq.

Democrats To Blame For Financial Turmoil

The Real Culprits In This Meltdown

By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Monday, September 15, 2008 4:20 PM PT

Big Government: Barack Obama and Democrats blame the historic financial turmoil on the market. But if it's dysfunctional, Democrats during the Clinton years are a prime reason for it.

Obama in a statement yesterday blamed the shocking new round of subprime-related bankruptcies on the free-market system, and specifically the "trickle-down" economics of the Bush administration, which he tried to gig opponent John McCain for wanting to extend.

But it was the Clinton administration, obsessed with multiculturalism, that dictated where mortgage lenders could lend, and originally helped create the market for the high-risk subprime loans now infecting like a retrovirus the balance sheets of many of Wall Street's most revered institutions.

Tough new regulations forced lenders into high-risk areas where they had no choice but to lower lending standards to make the loans that sound business practices had previously guarded against making. It was either that or face stiff government penalties.

The untold story in this whole national crisis is that President Clinton put on steroids the Community Redevelopment Act, a well-intended Carter-era law designed to encourage minority homeownership. And in so doing, he helped create the market for the risky subprime loans that he and Democrats now decry as not only greedy but "predatory."

Yes, the market was fueled by greed and overleveraging in the secondary market for subprimes, vis-a-vis mortgaged-backed securities traded on Wall Street. But the seed was planted in the '90s by Clinton and his social engineers. They were the political catalyst behind this slow-motion financial train wreck.

And it was the Clinton administration that mismanaged the quasi-governmental agencies that over the decades have come to manage the real estate market in America.

As soon as Clinton crony Franklin Delano Raines took the helm in 1999 at Fannie Mae, for example, he used it as his personal piggy bank, looting it for a total of almost $100 million in compensation by the time he left in early 2005 under an ethical cloud.

Other Clinton cronies, including Janet Reno aide Jamie Gorelick, padded their pockets to the tune of another $75 million.

Raines was accused of overstating earnings and shifting losses so he and other senior executives could earn big bonuses.

In the end, Fannie had to pay a record $400 million civil fine for SEC and other violations, while also agreeing as part of a settlement to make changes in its accounting procedures and ways of managing risk.

But it was too little, too late. Raines had reportedly steered Fannie Mae business to subprime giant Countrywide Financial, which was saved from bankruptcy by Bank of America.

At the same time, the Clinton administration was pushing Fannie and her brother Freddie Mac to buy more mortgages from low-income households.

The Clinton-era corruption, combined with unprecedented catering to affordable-housing lobbyists, resulted in today's nationalization of both Fannie and Freddie, a move that is expected to cost taxpayers tens of billions of dollars.

And the worst is far from over. By the time it is, we'll all be paying for Clinton's social experiment, one that Obama hopes to trump with a whole new round of meddling in the housing and jobs markets. In fact, the social experiment Obama has planned could dwarf both the Great Society and New Deal in size and scope.

There's a political root cause to this mess that we ignore at our peril. If we blame the wrong culprits, we'll learn the wrong lessons. And taxpayers will be on the hook for even larger bailouts down the road.

But the government-can-do-no-wrong crowd just doesn't get it. They won't acknowledge the law of unintended consequences from well-meaning, if misguided, acts.

Obama and Democrats on the Hill think even more regulation and more interference in the market will solve the problem their policies helped cause. For now, unarmed by the historic record, conventional wisdom is buying into their blame-business-first rhetoric and bigger-government solutions.

While government arguably has a role in helping low-income folks buy a home, Clinton went overboard by strong-arming lenders with tougher and tougher regulations, which only led to lenders taking on hundreds of billions in subprime bilge.

Market failure? Hardly. Once again, this crisis has government's fingerprints all over it.

President Bush Proposed Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac Supervision In 2003

Nancy Pelosi is running around saying that this has nothing to do with the Democrats and that it is all President Bush and the Republicans faults. If you agree then read this article and explain it.

This is from the Bucks Right.

A September 11, 2003 New York Times article shows that President Bush proposed “the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.” His proposal: An agency within the Treasury Department to supervise mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Fearing that mortgages would no longer be available to people who were unable to pay them back, Democrats eventually killed the proposal. The current meltdown in the mortgage industry is a direct result of giving mortgages to people who could not pay them back, a practice protected by Congressional Democrats.

The proposal worked its way around Congress for a couple of years. Efforts at reform of the kind proposed by President Bush were shot down by Democrats each time.

There is a lot more too this please go to the Bucks Right and read it.

Democrats New Oil Bill

The Democrats, lead by Nancy Pelosi, brought a bill to the floor today that they say would allow for more drilling. When actually it does not.

Here is the skinny on the bill.

1. Democrats are calling this a drilling bill, but it would actually prohibit drilling in more than 80 percent of the country's oil reserves.

2. The bill includes no revenue sharing with state governments from drilling, giving states no incentive to allow for oil and natural gas exploration in their waters.

3. The bill blocks clean, safe nuclear power production, prohibits the construction of new clean coal production facilities, and does not include plans to build more American oil refineries.

4. Worst of all it raises taxes and increases the cost of energy for families and businesses by creating electricity mandates.

The way that the Democrats are bringing this bill to the Floor bars any amendments, making this a Democrat written bill. That means Republicans have no say in it and will have to veto it.

This is their way to try to tell Americans that Republicans don't want to help you, when it is actually Democrats using our troubles for pure political reasons.

Roll Call a Capitol Hill paper says "The biggest question remaining in this Congress is whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) really want to cut a deal with the White House before the elections to allow more offshore oil drilling ? or whether they are going through an elaborate exercise to give their Members a heaping dose of political cover?"

Is Barack Obama Or John McCain More Bipartisan?

A study by The Washington Times finds John McCain has a far more bipartisan record than Obama since Obama came to the Senate in 2005.

The study shows Democrats made up 55 percent of McCain's political partners over the last two Congresses. He was the chief sponsor of 82 bills on which he had 120 Democratic co-sponsors out of 220 total sponsors.

For Obama, Republicans made up only 13 percent of his co-sponsors over the same period. He sponsored 120 bills and gained 522 Democratic co-sponsors but managed only 75 Republican co-sponsors.

This is funny since Obama likes to say that McCain has voted with Bush 90 percent of the time. So does that mean the Democrats voted with Bush 50 percent of the time?

This shows that McCain is by far the candidate who will reach across the party lines.

Barack Obama, The Elite & The Economy

Looks like the elite really are behind Obama. These people are not regular Americans. They do not care for us, all they care about is pushing their agendas on us. Think about it, the things that these people want pushed on us are things that will never effect them since they have money.

Celebrities are for the most part Socialists. If they get their way they will be the only ones that are rich. Remember, most of the world with these socialist governments are trying to get away from it. Why are we running towards it? It just doesn't work.

OBAMA BOOM ECONOMY: RECORD BANK IN BEV HILLS, $28,500 A PLATE! Tue Sep 16 2008 06:25:55 ET

The nation's financials may be in a spiral, but cash is flowing into the Obama campaign faster than Marvin Hamlisch can play "Niagara"!

Yesterday, Obama declared how we are in "the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression."

Today he will host a dinner in Beverly Hills --- costing attendees $28,500 dollars each!

Hundreds of high rollers, including some of the biggest executives in film, television and music, will munch gourmet chow and hang out with the candidate.

Streisand will then sing at the five-star Beverly Wilshire, no doubt reviving the Depression-era standard "Happy Days Are Here Again" with new urgency.

Obama is set to break a single-day fundraising record of $9 million.

Tuesday's events in Tinseltown come after Obama racked up a record-breaking $66 million dollars in fundraising last month, beating his previous high mark of $55 million last winter.

"The fundamentals of our economy are strong, but these are still very, very difficult times," rival McCain said, sunny-side up.

"Sen. McCain, what economy are you talking about?" smiled Obama.

Michigan Branch Of ACORN Putting Through Sizable, Duplicate, Fraudulent Voter Applications

I was tipped off on this from Stop The ACLU.

It is wrote by Susan Duclos on Digital Journal.

The Michigan branch of Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), located in Detroit, is being investigated after several municipal clerks reported fraudulent and duplicate voter registration applications coming through.

The majority of the fraudulent and duplicate applications are coming from the liberal ACORN group based in Detroit, Michigan, which now has ACORN investigating the problem once again as well as the Secretary of State's Office turning over some of those applications to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

According to the report by Freep.com, the spokeswoman for the Michigan Secretary of State's Office, Kelly Chesney, says there is a "sizable number of duplicate and fraudulent applications. And it appears to be widespread."

ACORN has registered 200,000 voters statewide in recent months with the use of paid, part time employees.

Don't forget people this is the group that Barack Obama worked with in Chicago. Seeing anything funny here?

Sept. 11th: People So Easily Forget

September 11Th needs to become a National Holiday, just like Pearl Harbor day. Do we need days off of work? No, but we need to remember.

The problem is that most people forget so easily. Remember right after this happened how many flags you seen flying around your neighborhood. Even while you drove your car you would see stickers on peoples cars with flags on it. Back then people were united against Terrorists, but people forget that WE were attacked.

George Bush went to ground zero and spoke those words that drove fear in the hearts of Terrorists, " I can hear you, the rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon." Oh and they heard us, but Islamic Terrorists are still not defeated.

We need to keep on the offensive and keep them from attacking us. Keep the fight on their lands not ours.

This day needs to be dedicated to those 3,000 innocent people that were killed in the towers in N.Y, the Pentagon, a field in Pennsylvania, and the 4 planes that went down. To the Fireman, Police and EMS personal that ran into those buildings not knowing that they would fall.

In their remembrance this site will not talk politics today, I will leave the images of what happened at the top of my site.

Media Finally Covers Obama

Is Barack Obamas darling Media turning there back on him? Has Obama lost his god status with them? I doubt it.

Obama really messed up like I already said, with this "pigs and lipstick" gaffe. The problem is that most of the media still will not say anything about it, but some are and Obama doesn't like it.

People this is Obama. He has been doing these type of things since he starting running for President. The problem has been that the Media loves him so much that they are biased. People that watch the news though, has had enough of the bias and wants fair and balanced coverage.

This has outraged Obama though.

"See, it would be funny, but the news media decided that would be the lead story yesterday. This happens every election cycle. Every four years, this is what we do. This is what they want to spend two of the last 55 days talking about...Enough!" Obama said.

Barack come on, your sexist remarks to people need to stop and the Media should cover this. I am sorry that you can not take bad coverage especially when you are down in the polls.

You Can Put Lipstick On A Pig, But It's Still A Pig

Barack Obama decided to counter Sarah Palins Hockey mom line with this witty little number. "You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said, "but it's still a pig."

As you should know Palin has used this line quite a bit, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

I don't think that is too smart Barack. You are already losing White Women voters to McCain, do you really want to make it worse? Calling Palin a pig, whether you meant to or not, is not the way to get votes. This is going to just make it worse for you.

John McCain's Convention Bounce

The main stream media has been saying that McCain has had barely any bounce from his convention. I have read everything from them calling it insignificant to tiny to a smidgen of a bounce. Well according to this the bounce was significant.

Lets all just hope that this bounce holds. McCain just needs to make sure that he does great in the debates.

Barack Obama & Kwame Kilpatrick

You knew that they were coming, so here they are.

Democrats Should Be Scared

If you watched the last two nights of the Republican National Convention you would know that for two days straight they hit grand slams.

Sarah Palins speech was exactly what she needed to do. Tell people who she was and then tell them what she did. She needed to act tough but also show that she is a great woman and an ordinary person. She did that. She knocked it out of the park.

John McCain needed to talk about the economy. He did that. He told the people watching of more ideas to get this country back on track then Obama could even think of. Everyone knows of his heroics during the Vietnam war but John told it differently. He explained how he was a trouble maker until he was caught. He said that he missed this country so much and found so much compassion from the men that he was locked up with that it changed his mind set. From the day that he was released he wanted to do nothing but serve this country and he has.

I have never been a huge fan of McCain and wasn't really energized by him until he picked Palin but after the speech last night I am now a fan. John McCain deserves to take the next step in serving this country. Like John said, Country first.

The Democrats should be scared. The Republican base was not very energized before this convention and was not really trying to help McCain. Now the machine is starting to move, the people are starting to care. When the Republicans get fired up the Dems don't know what to do.

Oh and by the way. Palin now has a higher favorable rating than Obama or McCain.

Sep 4, 2008

Kwame Kilpatrick Is Done

King Kwame is finally done. He entered into plea agreements this morning, pleading guilty to 2 obstruction of justice charges, no contest to assault charges.

Jail time, $1,000,000 in fines, can not run for office, and kicked out of office.

In a side note Cheif Ella Bully Cummins has stepped down. Hmm does she have something to hide also?

That's all I have to say about Kwame.

People of Detroit, Vote smart, Vote for someone who will care about Detroit, not a Hip Hop Mayor.

Sarah Palin's RNC Speech

Sarah steeped to the plate and not only hit the ball she smashed it over the wall with the bases loaded. It was a grand slam. That speech tells me that she is ready to be VP of this great Country.

Republicans, Conservatives, and Independents, let the media know that bashing Sarah Palin will not work. She is tough, tough as nails and exactly what we need.

Is Obama Afraid Of The Police?

Here is a letter that I have obtained. I can not confirm it but I have heard of his rudeness before. Plus it makes sense. He has a huge African American base and a good amount that I know are not to keen on Cops.

To all,

I have read all of the emails from not only some of the MTOA board members, but from other Law Enforcement & Military personnel about Barack Obama's rudeness and what seems to be disgust for basically anyone in uniform. Well, it's my turn to add to the list of emailers and here it is:

So members of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department, MSP, and other local agencies inside Calhoun County are working with Secret Service in the security of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama's bus arrives in Battle Creek and pulls into the stadium area. Before Mr. Obama exits the bus, he has the Secret Service get off and tell all Law Enforcement personnel in uniform that they now have to stand behind the bus so Mr. Obama is not seen with anyone in a Law Enforcement uniform before he gets off or while in the public view. So, everyone from MSP, Sheriff's Dept., and other agencies looks at each other for a brief second, goes and stands behind the bus out of sight so Mr. Obama does not have to see, or been seen with, what to him is "undesirables" since he refuses to been seen or even acknowledge Military or Law Enforcement.

At a time of war and terrorism in our world, this presidential candidate who is being protected by various branches of the military & law enforcement at the tax payers expense, refuses to acknowledge, be seen with, have in his photographed background, any type of Military or Law Enforcement in uniform.

But this is not in the media or headlines in the news. Why? I wonder what the story or media frenzy would be if it was Muslims, Blacks, Whites, Jews, or any other race, gender, religion, and/or occupation, that Mr. Obama refuses to be seen with or have around him.

Why would Law Enforcement branches make this up? Law Enforcement traditionally has had more funding under Democrats.

Just food for thought leading up to November 4Th.

US Weekly Shows Media Bias

I really don't need to say anything except thanks to Drudge for tipping me off on this. It must be nice to be a Democrat and get free campaign ads.

Sarah Palin Taking A Beating

My Lord I have never seen anything like this. Democrats, The Far Left, and news agencies are bashing Sarah Palin for everything and anything they can. Are you scared of her? It seems so, at least you should be.

I have searched on ABC, MSNBC, CBS, The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News. I have bounced around different blogs of Democrats and Far Left people. The are trying to get Palin to A) drop out or B) destroy her. It just shows how much the news agencies pander to the Democrats.

I have seen them slam her on her daughters pregnancy, trying to say that she is forcing her to keep the baby. I have seen them say that Tag her 4 month old son is actually Bristols son. I have seen them say that she is trying to kill all the Polar Bears and wants to destroy all the land in Alaska. I have seen them say that she supports Nazis. They are also going after her since her state has a low population, but she runs it unlike Obama who has never run anything.

Seriously, people, get a life. This is a hard working woman. She has gotten where she is because she is hard nosed and doesn't take anyones crap. Just like McCain she is not scared to go after her own party or to cross the party lines. This is the type of person we need right now. Not someone like Obama who will shift this country so far to the left it isn't even funny.

A McCain advisor told Sarah that she needs to be ready because these people are going to be coming after her from every angle. You know what she said? She said "You know what the difference between a Hockey mom and a Pitbull is? One wears lipstick."

Bristol Palin Is Pregnant

First the lefty bloggers were going nuts with lies saying that Sarah Palins 4 month old son, Tag, was actually Bristols baby. They thought that they had a September surprise on the Republicans.

Do they actually think that McCain didn't look into Palin before he Veeped her?

Bristol has been pregnant for 5 months. Well that would shoot the lies that the Lefty bloggers have been trying to spread. The Lefties are good at their smear campaign, wither it is true or not, and most are not.

So, now the Lefties are going crazy saying that Palins plan for abstinence is all wrong and it doesn't work. Well, it actually does work but if you can sell the kid on it. Bristol is 17, how many of you can say that you didn't have sex at 17?

Bristol is doing the right thing. She is going to have the baby instead of the normal Lefty idea of sending it to a medical waste dump.

To me this just shows that Sarah Palin is more like us middle class people. She is going through problems of everyday people and it makes me like her even more.
